Electrical Forensic Engineer

Summary 

This role involves investigative field work to determine the root cause of failures primarily related to electrical systems and components, followed by submitting a report of findings and testifying in support of those findings when called to do so. The Electrical Forensic Engineer will take a hands-on approach to engineering, working in the field, testing facility and office.         

 

Essential Functions 

  • Complete hands-on failure analysis assignments in the field and testing facility 

  • Document facts and report finalization of findings 

  • Ability to apply theories and knowledge to real world situations 

  • Complete assignments on time as requested by client 

  • Conduct ethical practices consistently

Required Education and Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering preferred 

  • 10 or more years of engineering experience 

 

Other Requirements 

  • Licensed Professional Engineer  

  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing, demonstrating safe driving habits and capable of being insured by our company policy. 

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, as required for the position. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours 

This is a full-time positionSome flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.    

 

Physical Demands 

This position is a combination of field work, travel related work, and sedentary workAn employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 poundsAn employee may also be required to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions. 

 

Travel 
Regular travel will be required as a part of the Forensic Engineer positionSome overnight travel may be required.
