Civil Engineering Internship
2MI-Holland, Michigan

The Intern will have the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced Civil Engineers and Construction Services professionals. The duration of this summer internship commitment will be approximately 12 to 16 weeks during the months of May through August. 
 

Essential Functions

  • Participate in the field by assisting with construction inspections 
  • Work with team members to learn construction means and methods 
  • Learn and assist team members in maintaining public agency construction standards
  • Further, develop civil design knowledge and experience
  • Assist team in a variety of other assignments as needed

Required Education and Experience 

  • Pursuing Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering

Other Requirements

Valid Driver’s License in good standing, and demonstrated safe driving habits.


Position Type/Expected Hours 

This is a temporary full-time position for the summer. Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

 

Physical Demands

This position is a combination of sedentary work, with some field and travel-related work. An employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift. 

An employee may also be required to drive, traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions.


Travel

There may be some travel required in this position.
